Yurt Glamping for People with Disabilities
Measures we have taken
Caalm Camp are now offering yurt glamping for people with all disabilities. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy yurt glamping, so we have taken measures to adapt and improve our site to accommodate people with all disabilities. Our campsite now benefits from level, well-lit paths leading to all yurts and our facilities. Ramps are freely available to enable wheelchair-users to gain easy access to all areas of the site. The traditional doorway width measurements of the yurts, (132cm high by 67cm wide) will easily accommodate all standard-sized wheelchairs.
The interior of all the yurts comprise a carpeted floor, a double bed and two single day beds. All beds can to accommodate a hoist. There is also enough space for a profiling bed where needed. This can be hired upon request. Our Yurts have ample wheelchair turning space throughout. The double beds are arranged so that they can be easily accessed from either side.
We have level access to all the communal areas. Commode chairs are available for our private wet rooms, all comprising adapted shower heads and extra long hoses.
All yurts benefit from their own separate fridge located in the communal kitchen. People with special dietary needs or allergies will, therefore, have no fear of cross-contamination. This is also compliant with Covid-hygiene regulations.
